The Old Flight House takes a look into the fabulous unit owners and antiques dealers at the centre. This month we will be introducing you to Athol Whitmore as he shares with us his favourite pieces, currently available in The Old Flight House.
Athol Whitmore is an artist and antique/art collector living in Oxford. Athol’s unit is an eclectic mix of old and new unique pieces. He specialises in chairs and other seating – upholstering pieces himself.
“I strive to find the unusual and I love to combine traditional pieces with contemporary influences.
My creations must be unique , beautiful and functional.I believe in creating pieces that have limited carbon footprint.I can do this by sourcing furniture form within the United Kingdom and returning them to their original glory but with a contemporary feel.
When I am working in the studio anything that can be reused is and everything else is recycled.”
