We asked internationally renowned photographer and unit owner at The Old Flight House, Pete Seaward. What do you love about photography? This was his answer.
I’ve been a photographer for over 30 years. Travelling all over the world from Africa to Antarctica and New York to New Zealand. I’ve seen some of the world’s most spectacular sights and met some incredible people along the way. When I’m shooting pictures I love that feeling of not knowing exactly what challenges I will meet and the pictures I will capture that day. Its all part of the magic of photography.
The camera has always been a powerful tool and even more so nowadays with our constant image hungry world. It can educate, change people’s opinions, enlighten, inform, describe, affect, depress and hopefully make people happy. All through the power of the lens.
I’m as happy shooting a metropolis as I am shooting a remote landscape. Waiting hours for a wild animal or the spontaneous smile of innocent youth. One important ingredient is the key to a top class picture almost every time… ’the light’.
We hope you enjoyed reading about why Pete loves photography. Looking at his work, it’s easy to see why. If you would like to see more examples of Pete’s work and travel, please visit peteseaward.com.
